S372 19th Century Black and Copper Carriage Light
A single carriage light, with a copper front and original lens. A red jewel in the back casts a glow when lit. One side has a beveled square glass window. The interior is silver plated, and was originally made for candle but has been electrified. This piece is in good condition, but has some rust from exposure to the elements, as visible in photos. We recommend that this be used interior only to protect the metal from further deterioration, a ideal piece for a room without the ceiling clearance for a dramatic ceiling lantern. Rewired with a mounting bracket, suitable for 100 W max, but aesthetically a gentler glow would be preferable. The back hinges open for access to the bulb.
