S269 Early 20th Century Lions Head Sconces – a Pair

Finely cast lions heads on oval backplates. The light hangs from a ring held in the lions month, similar in design to classic lions head door knockers. Original matte white neoclassical style glass shades. These have been rewired with new socket inserts for use in the US. Brass has been refinished, hand polished and patinated with a light antique brass finish. Glass is in very good condition, some light marking and chipping as expected for its age. 60 Watt max in each socket. United States, C. 1920. Pair, down hanging, includes glass. Brass, C. 1915
