SOLD C424 1920’s Silver and Black Renaissance Revival Chandelier

A six arm traditional form chandelier. Cast metal with silverplate. Ornate clover shaped silver loop at top, below which lies a cap with black insets and raised silver bands. Below this is a ring of silver with an alternating palm and clover motif. A curved black and silver stem leads to another band, this one with a grape leaf motif on the inset. The body of the chandelier has a top and bottom dish of alternating black and silver bands, the silver bands ornamented with a palmette motif. Between is a band of silver with acanthus leaf decorations from which the arms spring. The arms have a smooth surface on the bottom and acanthus above. They have an s shape, rising from the body slightly before plunging and then curving upwards, capped by black and silver bobeches and a carved candle cup. The fixture has been restored and rewired. The silver finish was polished and protected, but has some tarnishing. The black paint is in very good condition. Rewired for use in the US, 60 watt max bulb per socket. New ivory drip candle covers.
