19th Century English Regency Gilt and Patina Bronze Argand Lamps – a Pair


An exceptional pair of argand lamps. Gilt and Patinated Bronze with colonial style crystals. The fonts are topped by three rings of reeded gilt bronze. A band of stamped bronze circles the font, featuring fine detailing of thistle and rose. Foliate rings suspend crystals from the shareholders and center stem. The base is finely cast in the manner of classical acanthus leaves raised on a square plinth atop four gilt bronze feet. English, Regency, C. 1820. Glass shades are a later replacement, frosted and cut with a greek key pattern. Completely restored and wired. Metals have been cleaned by hand, and all efforts made to restore the original finish. Carefully wired with candelabra sockets, and brown fabric wire with a line switch. Wiring is to US electrical code.
